Get answers to common questions about Microneedling with Active Ingredients.
Your provider cleanses skin, applies topical numbing, performs microneedling to create microchannels, then administers active serums. Procedure lasts 45–90 minutes depending on treatment area. You may experience redness and mild swelling that typically subsides within a few days.
Most clients benefit from a series of three to six treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. Individual needs, severity of concerns, and desired results determine exact schedule, with maintenance sessions recommended every 6–12 months.
We apply topical numbing to minimize discomfort; most clients describe sensation as mild pressure or tingling. Intensity varies with needle depth and treatment area. Communication during treatment allows adjustments to ensure comfort and safety.
Downtime is generally 24–72 hours of redness, mild swelling, and sensitivity similar to sunburn. Healing varies by depth; peeling or flaking can occur. Avoid sun exposure, vigorous exercise, and certain skincare for several days to protect results.
Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding clients, active acne or infections, recent isotretinoin use, keloid-prone skin, or uncontrolled medical conditions. Always disclose medications and medical history so the practitioner can assess suitability and recommend alternatives if needed.
Avoid retinoids, exfoliants, chemical peels, and prolonged sun exposure for one to two weeks before treatment. Arrive with clean skin and inform us of recent procedures or medications. Follow pre-care instructions provided during consultation for optimal results.
